Creating Glossy Stamped Prints

When I first started attending Stampin' Up classes, my demonstrator at the time, Miriam Spiess - The Creative Fold, taught us this simple technique of creating beautiful glossy prints using stamps.  It is so simple to do, but the result is absolutely stunning and I definitely encourage you to give it a go if you haven't before.

Step 1
Take a piece of glossy paper and stamp your desired image/s onto it using versamark ink.  Allow your stamped images to dry before proceeding to the next step.  If you don't wait for the stamped images to dry it will result in the image smudging or streaking once you proceed to the next step.

Step 2
Once your stamped image is dry, ink a brayer using a Classic Stampin' pad.  Roll this over your glossy paper, reinking the brayer until you reach your desired shade and it is evenly coated.
Tip:  You will notice in this step that if your glossy paper is larger than the width of the brayer, it can result in darker strips/ patches as the brayered ink overlaps - you can prevent this by opting for smaller pieces of glossy paper.

Step 3
Take a tissue and wipe over your glossy paper, removing any ink residue.  You will be left with a beautiful glossy print for you to use as desired.

This technique is great for cards, but looks very impressive when making prints for photo frames using larger stamped images, such as the retired Stampin' Up! Swallowtail Butterfly stamp, that can be given as gifts.  Here are a couple of cards I have made using this technique:
